Dark Empire, a good or bad comic?

Post by OrbalinGoop »

I’ve read Dark Empire more than I want to admit because I wanted to appreciate it. Sadly, I couldn’t.

The audiodrama of the first part is pretty good! Despite of all the events after Leia stealing the Holocron in such a cartoony way xD

Well, that probably depends on what you value most in a comic!
I like the first DE. The illustrations are beautiful and I enjoy the dialogue. Like most Star Wars, you sort of have to enjoy it for what it is, instead of being disappointed by what it isn't.

If it's not for you, then it's just not for you.

It's a beautiful looking comic. It even has a few good lines. But the story of the first one is hackish, and the second one is even worse, boring. I'm a big fan nonetheless.
The first billion who must read, and the first star wars fan you must kill, is yourself.

Pretty much completely agree here. It’s a gorgeous piece of art accompanied by a (at best) serviceable story.
It's something even the Masters don't reveal about the inner nature of the secret heart of the universe. The deepest and darkest secret of all that the Force lets you see. The universe has a sense of humor.

I don't like it, but I am very alone with that standpoint in the Green Circle.
