Essential Legends Collection

Post by spaceCowboy »

Honor Among Thieves and Razor's Edge joining the ELC really has me thinking about the point of the publishing initiative. What makes these works Essential? Why are they Essential? The TOR novels really only impact TOR, while foundational texts to Star Wars as a whole like the JAT (love it or hate it) are nowhere to be seen.
What are your thoughts? What would you add or take away from the series?
If they think you’re crude, go technical; if they think you’re technical, go crude. I’m a very technical boy. So I decided to get as crude as possible. :ugeek:

It feels like just a marketing move to me. If anything I think they don't want to print the "core" books of the storyline bc they want to avoid brand confusion. Which is why we're getting all this nonsense before we get anything beyond the Thrawn Trilogy (besides X-Wing, of course )
The first billion who must read, and the first star wars fan you must kill, is yourself.

Yeah, it does seem like they're avoiding anything too integral. What's a guy gotta do to get the Callista Trilogy around here?

That’s what I’ve been saying!!!
It's something even the Masters don't reveal about the inner nature of the secret heart of the universe. The deepest and darkest secret of all that the Force lets you see. The universe has a sense of humor.

I feel like those are such a slam dunk given the success of FACPOV, but they are also probably avoiding them to avoid brand confusion. Very disappointing.
