I don’t like how much Zahn himself glazes Thrawn

“Tarkin could not do that. I thought how easy that first movie could’ve ended with a victory. ‘We’ve analyzed their attack, there’s a threat. You want to evacuate?’ No, Thrawn would’ve said, ‘Specify.’ ‘Okay, call a TIE fighter, have it sit on that vent.’ That’s all it would’ve taken. Thrawn will listen.”

As if there wasn’t the best available pilot in a special Tie engaged in the battle. Thrawn would not be able to stop Luke Skywalker either, a single extra Tie would not have stopped the will of the force.

Some of you might also recall that quote about burning down Endor forest.

I mean we‘re used to Thrawn glazers in the fandom, but I really don’t like how Zahn does it too. And I don’t feel it’s particularly like Thrawn was in HttE. It’s giving more „Don‘t Siege Stalingrad, take it immediately“ vibes

Yea that line made me cringe a bit. Within his own trilogy Zahn did a great job giving Thrawn a critical blindspot, so it feels weird to go "MY OC wouldn't be so STUPID..." I'm not sure who, but I did see someone make a Star-Wars-ified "don't siege stalingrad" equivalent mocking him.
