Ryan Gosling ergo kino.
In seriousness, eh? I have a similar feeling about Starfighter that I have for Galactic Racer and Zero Company. I expect that it will be mediocre but I'm also constantly looking for signs in the tea leaves that show "actually this will be kino and everyone will finally love star wars again."
Careful what you say about Racer buddy

Make no mistake, I am on my knees PRAYING to my shrine of Aldar Beedo that SWGR is good. I have notifications on for the game's twitter account and I have rewatched each trailer multiple times.
I dipped my toes into speedrunning SW Episode 1 Racer back in college and I have wanted a new, good SW racing game for maybe 15 years. If they nail this, SW is officially saved for real this time. I've just been burned too many times to go in
expecting it to be good.

I hate that all I have to look forward to is a Shawn "I Have Never Made Art, Only Content" Levy movie
I also think Racer will be bad, racing games as a whole are dead, and the games industry in the West is incapable of making games decently and on time.
Zero Company I just hate that it's Clone Wars, complete miss

I think there’s definitely potential. I have no doubts it will be both fun and good looking. I’d be ok with a Star Wars movie that wasn’t necessarily galactic stakes and more small scale with a nice character focus. I’m sure we’ll get some insights into the post-TROS galaxy, but I don’t know how much groundwork I expect. And a bit pessimistically, I’m not sure I want Shawn Levy and Jonathan Trooper (writer) to be in charge of laying that groundwork. They strike me as the type of guys to come in, do their Star Wars movie, and leave. That’s cool. Who wouldn’t? But I don’t necessarily want the functional galaxy to be beholden and tethered to whatever they determine. Unless story group has some guidance in that way?
All that being said… I’m definitely looking forward to a fun movie that I think will be unique no matter what (A-list cast, Shawn Levy directed, etc.). Not to mention a new era for the galaxy. There’s definitely promise! Who doesn’t love Gosling?

Hopefully it will be good, lets see if Viceroy Filonis new regime will be able to handle it well.
