Re: WEG Art Megathread
Time for 1994's The Last Command!
First up is David Plunkett, who I was not able to find too much information on. He works on four or five of the WEG publications before swapping to video games in the mid to late 90s. He works for Bethesda on Terminator Future Shock and Daggerfall before moving to to Segasoft, Origin, Monolith, Sony, and most recently Retro Studios. I can't seem to find anything after 2011.

Next is Allen Nunis, we've seen him before in this thread and he is all over WEG. He also is cover artist for the first four Rogue Squadron comic issues as well as the Classic Star Wars Dark Horse color reprints of the Marvel comics.

This one is also with Paul Daly

Only a few by Mike Vilardi this time, but Mara vs Luuke is a banger

Tim Eldred, another WEG standby

Terry Pavlet only has a couple credits on Star Wars, but twenty pages of them on RPGGeek. A really prolific artist, I like his scratchy style and shading. He sadly passed away in 2022.

And that's it! I will be sporadically updating with more books and collections, but if you have any requests for artists or books please let me know!

God this stuff is so good. I adore all of the ship sections especially. Got anything from the Truce at Bakura Sourcebook?

Really fantastic detail by Allen Nunis on those ships. Really gives you a sense of scale.spaceCowboy wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2026 1:51 pm Time for 1994's The Last Command!

Here's some Truce!Jaxtonian wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2026 7:54 pm God this stuff is so good. I adore all of the ship sections especially. Got anything from the Truce at Bakura Sourcebook?
First artist is Christina Wald! Her art is in quite a few of the WEG books, but also worked on D&D, Shadowrun, Mechwarrior, and more. She seems to have made a pivot to children's illustration in recent decades and runs classes, workshops, and trips for painting and sketching.

The Flurry! Interestingly enough the more popular triangular design for the Quasar Fire first shows up in the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, which releases one month after this sourcebook.

Next is Jordi Ensign, who only has three credits with SWD6. He's a comics guy who worked on Rogue Squadron, The Sith War, Chewbacca, Star Wars (1998), and Routine from Star Wars Tales 2. He also has credits on Aliens, X, and Xena at Dark Horse, X-Men at Marvel, and a ton of DC titles including Supergirl, Takion, Fate, and Green Lantern.

Ray Lederer has a handful of WEG credits, but in 2008 got a job at Bethesda as concept artist, first on Skyrim, then on Fallout 4 and 76. He apparently did the illustrations for most of the in-game magazines and books in those two Fallouts.

These last two are by Tim Bobko and Brian Schomburg, respectively. Both are all over WEG, but Schomburg mostly did technical illustrations. FFG got him for the Edge of the Empire beginner game, as well.

Hope you enjoy!

Fantastic stuff, thank you! My Unknown Regions TTRPG campaign is coming to a head (climactic fight vs Ssi Ruuk & cultists in a few weeks) so it was good to dump these in the image channel for the players who aren't as familiar with the area.
Also, side note, what the hell kind of alien is this? Flatheaded Muun? Smallheaded Duro? Whatever he is, I love him (also I don't recognize the insignia on their chest, is that NR?)

Re: WEG Art Megathread
That is Duros navigator Monnda Tebbo! He's looking up which may give it a funky angle and make the head smaller, but there is a trend at WEG to give Duro larger faces and kind of wider or squatter craniums rather than taller. Here are two by Mike Vilardi and one by Joey Robinson. (side note: I don't think Muun exist in 1996! They are first mentioned in materials around AotC, Although Muunilinst appears as a banking planet in 1997's Specter of the Past.)Jaxtonian wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 8:02 pm

The New Republic doesn't exist yet at the start of Truce, it's the Alliance of Free Planets, but everyone on the Flurry is wearing the uniforms of the Virgillian Free Alignment, an ally to the old Alliance to Restore the Republic that fielded a few ships, including the Flurry, for the Battle of Endor

Hell yeah, I fuck with Monnda Tebbo crazy. That's my boy now. I also see they've got some Herglics (surely those are Herglics), which are another one of my favorites. This stuff is soooo good man. Different style, but this makes me want to go through my Traveller PDFs. They evoke a similar older sci fi RPG vibe
I'd forgotten that Muuns weren't around back then--if memory serves they later retconned someone in either TTT or HoT to be a Muun because he was described as rather gaunt/lanky + from Muunilinst.
Also very cool. I always enjoy seeing the different bits and pieces of the greater AlliancespaceCowboy wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 9:10 pm

Re: WEG Art Megathread
Thanks for posting these. I haven't gone through the sourcebooks yet, and I rarely see people posting these images in other contexts, so this thread is pretty cool.
